"La Passionaria", Senor Dolores Ibarruri, the President of the Spanish Communist Party also made a forceful speech. She said that the socialism in Spain was something which would make it possible for all progressive people to live and work in peace. Earlier this year, in April, Senora Ibarruri was re-elected President of the Party by a huge vote.

SYNOPSIS: Senor Santiago Carrillo Solares, the Secretary General of the Spanish Communist Party introduced Signor Berlinguer. In 1957, the Spanish and Italian communist parties signed an agreement, and this, Senor Carrillo said in his welcome, was what had kept the two parties together.

The murder of Signor Moro was aimed at bringing about the collapse of Italian democracy, but had failed to do so, and, Signor Berlinguer had told reporters, The Italian Communist Party was preparing to investigate Signor Moro's kidnapping and death. Signor Berlinguer also said that Eurocommunism, the concept of independence of Western Communist parties from the Soviet Union, was still alive. But he added that it was not aimed against the Soviet Union.
