  • Description

THE DAYS OF SILENT MOVIES, PROHIBITION AND BONNIE AND CLYDE CAME TO LIFE AGAIN, IN LONDON TODAY (THURSDAY) AS A COLLECTION OF THE LATEST HAT FASHIONS WENT BEFORE THE PUBLIC. THE PARADE, SPONSORED BY THE MILLINERY INSTITUTE OF GREAT BRITAIN, FEATURED THE MAXI COLLECTION, HATS THAT TOOK THEIR INSPIRATION FROM THE ROARING TWENTIES AND THE MORE MANNERED, THOUGH STILL TURBULENT, THIRTIES.

HELD IN THE PLUSH ATMOSPHERE OF LONDON'S CARLTON TOWER HOTEL, THE PARADE SHOWED HATS WHICH NOT ONLY HAVE THE LOOK OF THE THIRTIES ABOUT THEM BUT ALSO TOOK THEIR NAMES FROM THE PERIOD. SOME OF THE FASHIONS ON DISPLAY CARRIED SUCH TITLES ARE "CLARA BOW", "CHARLESTON" AND, OF COURSE, "BONNIE" AND "CLYDE".
