Background: Spiro Agnew of the United States, is a keen amateur golfer--but his zeal is more than matched by his bad luck. In yesterday's (Saturday) "Bob Hope Desert Golfing Classic" in Palm Desert, California, he slice-topped two drives in quick succession, hitting two women in the audience. Last year, in the same event--the same accident--the Vice President sliced into the crowd hitting a woman on the arm.

Mr. Agnew's foursome yesterday was made up of Comedian Bob Hope; Baseball Star Willy Mays; and Edgar Eisenhower--younger brother of the former, golfing, President.
