The new United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Mr. Poul Hartling, who has been touring southern Africa says that the refugee problems in the area are increasing. He gave his assessment after meeting Tanzania's President Julius Nyerere and representatives of southern African liberation movements.
SYNOPSIS: Mr. Hartling, a former Danish prime minister, arrived in Tanzania from Zambia on the sixth leg of a fact-finding tour. He was warmly greeted at the airport by a number of officials, including Minister of Home Affairs Hassan Moyo. His tour has also taken him to Mozambique, Swaziland, Lesotho and Botswana. He spoke to newsmen at a Dar Es Salaam hotel following his talks with President Nyerere.
