    THE SUPPLIES AND FOOD FLOWN IN ON A UNITED STATES AIR FORCE C-141. THE AIRCRAFT KNOWN AS THE LOCKHEED STARLIFTER, IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST TRANSPORTS USED BY THE U.S.

    THE U.S. AMBASSADOR IN LAGOS, MR. ELBERT G. MATHEWS, OFFICIALLY HANDED OVER THE SUPPLIES TO MR. JEAN-PIERRE PEIRROZ, WHO WAS REPRESENTING THE INTERNATIONAL RED CROSS COMMITTEE. THE BULK SHIPMENT CONSISTED OF 2000 BOXES OF MEDICINE AND HIGH-PROTEIN FOODS.

    THE C-141 FLEW IN FROM THE U.S.A.F. BASE IN FRANKURT AND IT TOOK OFF ALMOST AS SOON AS ITS CARGO WAS UNLOADED. THE RED CROSS WILL DISTRIBUTE THE SHIPMENT THROUGHOUT NIGERIA'S WAR-RAVAGED AREAS.
