Saudi Foreign Affairs Minister Mr. Omar Al-Saqaf led a delegation of senior officials in a two-day visit to Qatar which began Friday, Feb. 11. They met Qatari officials to discuss relations between the two countries and the general situation in the Arabian Gulf.
SYNOPSIS: Doha International airport, in Qatar, where a delegation of Saudi Arabian officials arrived on Friday for talks with Qatari leaders. They were met by Qatari officials and members of the foreign diplomatic Corps.
Leading the Saudi delegates was Mr. Omar Saqaf, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. He and his party of senior Government officials were greeted by Sheikh Nasser Bin Khalid Al-Thani, the Qatari Minister of Economy and Commerce, and Mr. Khalid Al-Attiah, Minister of Public Works.
Later in the evening Mr. Al-Saqaf was entertained to dinner by the Deputy-Emir and Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheik Khalifa Bin Hamad Al-Thani at the Sheik's palace in Doha.
The Saudi party was in Qatar for two days of talks with Qatari officials. On the agenda: relations between the two countries and the general situation in the Arabian Gulf area.
