    Background: Guerillas of the Bangladesh movement still operating in East Pakistan claim they have overrun six villages in the Khulna district, killing more than 150 soldiers of the Pakistan army.

    VISNEWS cameraman Durgadas Chatterji accompanied by a group of guerillas in East Pakistan and shot this film in Chai Ghoria, Baikhari and Khalil Nagar.

    The villagers say that the Pakistan army shelled many of the buildings before withdrawing. Many of them give food and assistance to the guerillas, and some have been recruited for training in the Mukti Fuj (Liberation Army).

    Reports of increasing guerilla activity came at a time when four Pakistani supply ships have been sunk in the past week, seriously interrupting the flow of soldiers and military supplies from West to East Pakistan.

    SYNOPSIS: Bangladesh guerrillas, operating in the Khulna district of East Pakistan, claim to have overrun six villages in the area, killing at least 150 soldiers of the Pakistan army. They claim that the Pakistan soldiers shelled many of the buildings before they withdrew.

    The guerillas have been receiving food and assistance from the villages, and in return they have bene treating wounds suffered during the fighting. Guerilla leaders claim that the villagers provide valuable information on Pakistan troop movements. The guerilla activity comes at a time when four Pakistani supply ships have been sunk in the past week, seriously interrupting the flow of soldiers and military supplies from West to East Pakistan. Many of the villagers in the Khulna district are reported to have joined the Mukti-Fuj -- Freedom Fighters -- as the guerilla activity continues.
