    At Lansdowne Road, Dublin, Feb. 14, England and Ireland played their first Rugby match of the season.

    The ground was in perfect condition, a drizzle at lunch time stopped until after the match. After five minutes of play Henderson, Ireland, went close with the first penalty from 50 yards. For most of the first half Ireland was the stronger team, harassed the English pack. Luch Risman, kicking across a strong breeze from 30 yards, scored for the English Team.

    During the second half England rallied and pressed hard but the score remained unchanged, England 3 Ireland 0.

    Three penalties were missed two by Irishman Henderson and one by Risman.
