TRANSCRIPT: SEQ. 5: BOHAN: "Well, the tendency will be, well, young, modern, and well, very couture. That means two-tone, its a sort of a two-tone collection, navy in white, red and white, green and white. As you can see, the shoes are navy and white and the fabric is navy and white and the shape is slightly flared, fitted waistline, fitted top, normal shoulder, pleated skirt, very often contrasting jacket and dress, printed in texture. And they have the scarf which is navy and white - which will be the sort of trade mark for this season - and a felt beret. And we're having pants also in the same mood which means navy jacket and printed pants for day and evening. And evening wear is much more feminine .....losts of organdie, crepe georgette with flared skirt and bare top. Well, instead of showing legs, we'll show shoulders and arms".

Background: With French fashion houses preparing to show their spring and summer 1972 collections, Dior designer Marc Bohan yesterday (17 January outlined the coming trends. The well-dressed woman will wear a tailored two-tone look - with slightly flared skirts, fitted waistlines and contrasting jacket and dress. Navy and white will be the combination of the season. Evening wear will be very feminine with ruffle, organdie and crepe georgette to flatter shoulders and arms.

Overseas buyers of haute couture - high fashion - once sought the most expensive creations. Now they want cheaper, ready-made garments and most of Paris' leading designers have launched into mass production without forgetting the special clothes for wealthy clients.
