A MARCH-PART OF MEMBERS OF THE POLICE FORCE STARTED THE PARADE.

A WARM RECEPTION WAS GIVEN TROOPS OF GABON'S ARMY, AIR FORCE, AND WOMEN'S CORPS.

PRESIDENT BONGO, AT ONLY THIRTY-TWO, IS ONE OF THE YOUNGEST NATIONAL LEADERS OF THE AFRICAN CONTINENT. HE BECAME VICE-PRESIDENT OF GABON ONLY SIX YEARS AFTER LEAVING THE AIR FORCE TO TAKE UP POLITICS. HE LATER SUCCEEDED LEON M'BA AS PRESIDENT.
