  • Description

Princess Margaret went to church in Tucson Sunday (14 November) and then held an informal picture-taking session in the cattle corral of host Lewis Douglas at his ranch nearby.

As her visit of five days neared an end she first went, with Lord Snowdon, to St. Phillip's in the Hills in Tucson. An overflow crowd watched as she and her husband arrived and left early. Mounted sheriff's deputies patrolled the church grounds.

After changing clothes at the Douglas homein Tucson, the party went to the Douglas ranch about 53 miles southeast of Tucson. It is a working ranch with about 1,000 white-faced Hereford cattle. Here the royal couple has a cold lunch of wine, ham and beef.

Then they posed for cameramen in a corral, in sharp contrast to the previous day when they were virtually sealed off. Princess Margaret patted a calf and Snowdon climbed aboard a pony.
