  • Description

MORE THAN 1,300 MODEL AIRCRAFT ARE ON SHOW IN LONDON UNTIL SEPT 9 AT AN EXHIBITION WHICH TELLS THE STORY OF AVIATION FROM 1918 TO THE PRESENT DAY. THE DISPLAY COINCIDES WITH THE FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW, WHERE THE FULL-SIZE VERSIONS OF THESE MINIATURES CAN BE SEEN.

ALL THESE MODELS, ACCURATE TO THE LAST DETAIL, ARE THE WORK OF ONE MAN - A MR. FARMAR OF TORQUAY. THEY ARE MADE PARTLY FROM CONSTRUCTION KITS, BUT MOSTLY FROM BITS OF WOOD AND SCRAPS OF METAL.

THE RANGE OF THIS UNIQUE COLLECTION IS TREMENDOUS AND, NOT CONTENT WITH MAKING ONE MODEL OF EACH TYPE OF AIRCRAFT, MR FARRAR ALSO RECORDS DETAILED CHANGES OF SPECIFICATION. AND ALL THAT SIMPLY IN PURSUIT OF A HOBBY:
