    The body of Sir Edward Frederick Mutesa, last Kabaka (King) of Buganda and first President of Uganda, was flown from London on Wednesday for burial at his family home in Kasubi. Sir Edward, affectionately known as "King Freddie", died in poverty and exile in London in 1969 after being overthrown and banished by former President Milton Obote. And when his body arrived in Uganda it was given a state reception by General Idi Amin, who overthrew President Obote earlier this year.

    Following the airport reception, and a military march with the coffin through the streets of Kampala, the body was laid in state a the capital's Anglican cathedral. Thousands of mourners paid their respects to "King Freddie", who will be buried on Sunday (April 4).
