An International Commission for Weather forecasts is at present reunited in this city. The members?
An International Commission for Weather forecasts is at present reunited in this city. The members of this commission who represent the following Countries bordering the Mediterranean are: Spain, France, Jugoslavia, Greece, Malta, Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, United Arab Republic, Libia, Tunisia, Maroc, Algeria and Italy; are working towards the unification of methods of work, signals, mapmaking etc in the weather forecasting field.
The final goal of the Commission is the creation of a great central laboratory which will receive news concerning weather conditions from all over the Mediterranean basin, will "process" this news transcribe it on maps and emit bulletins in a single technical language understandable to all without need of special interpretation. Any pilot for instance on arriving at any air port will have a clear picture immediately of what he can expect on his route because the news he receives will be clear and understandable. This no doubt will contribute a good deal towards the safety of passenger life.
