About 1,000 members of the Korean Democratic Youth Association held a rally in the City Hall Plaza, Seoul, South korea, Nov 19. They strongly opposed neutralism in Korea.
The rally was sponsored by the Central Committee of the Association and three Seoul daily newspapers- "Chosen Ilbo", "Seoul Daily News" and "Pyung Hwa Daily News". Young speaker suggested that North and South Korea should be unified on democratic lines, within the limits of the present constitution. One of the speakers was Chung Nak Hyun, a former North Korean MIG jet pilot who defected to South Korea and is now an officer in the South Korean Air Force. He was applauded when he said that the North Koreans,under Communism, were living in slavery.
Calling for one democratic Korea, members adopted a resolution to be sent to South Korean President Yun Po Sun and United Nations Secretary - General Dag Hammarskjoeld. They then held a demonstration through the streets of Seoul.
