  • Description

Chief Vietcong negotiator at the Paris peace talks and Foreign Minister of the self- proclaimed South Vietnamese Provisional Revolutionary Government Madame Nguyen Binh arrived in Mauritania on Thursday (8 June) at the beginning of a four-day official visit.

She was greeted at Nouakchott Airport by Mauritanian Justice Minister and acting Foreign Minister M. Maloum Ould Braham, and was then driven to the city of Nouakchott to meet President Moktar Ould Daddah.

The Mauritanian President left Mauritania on Saturday (10 June) for Rabat to preside at next week's Organisation of African Unity (OAU) meeting. Madame Binh, who had repeatedly claimed that the United States refuses to negotiate seriously at the Paris peace talks, said after her arrival in Mauritania that she hoped President Ould Daddah would inform the forthcoming summit meeting of the reality of the South Vietnam situation.
