Background: Jordanian Crown Prince Hassan Ibn Talal arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Tuesday (8 July) for a six-day official visit.
He was welcomed at Cairo airport by the Egyptian Vice President Hosny Mubarak and the Prime Minister Mamdouh Salem.
After stepping from his Royal Jordanian airlines jet, the Prince was given a red carpet reception. After a state dinner in the city, Prince Hassan was to fly to Alexandria on Wednesday for his first round of talks with President Anwar Sadat.
They were to discuss the Middle East situation in general and the state of steadily improving relations between Egypt and Jordan.
The Prince is also taking the opportunity during his trip for some sightseeing around Cairo and the Canal Zone and a tour is planned to the ancient monuments at Luxor and Aswan.
