  • Description

Eighteen Bedouin tribes of the Negev Desert and their 70,000 head of sheep and cattle have begun a trek from the draught-stricken pastures to a region north of Beersheba. The Bedouins were allocated an area of 200,000 dunams of pasture land by the Military Government where they will graze their livestock for three months. The scant rainfall this year has caused million of poundsworth of damage in the south where crops on the land tilled by these Bedouin nomads have failed miserably. One Bedouin sheikh recently advertised 3,000 sheep for sale because of the draught.
