    The West Germany Ministry for Economic Co-operation announced on Tuesday (27 March) a capital aid grant of 27 million marks (about 4 million sterling) for the construction of projects in Kenya.

    The announcement came after two days of consultations in Bonn between the Deputy State-Secretary in Kenya's Ministry of Finance and Planning, N.G. Nganga, and representatives of the West German Ministry.

    The Kenyan project affected by the agreement include sewage disposal in provincial towns, the search for drinking water reservoirs, two agricultural irrigation schemes, and road construction.

    The West German grant also provides equipment and experts for the construction of a veterinary laboratory, a technical education establishment and a nursing school.

    SYNOPSIS: At the Ministry for Economic Co-operation in Bonn on Tuesday a meeting between representatives of West Germany and Kenya was held on bilateral economic relations between the two countries. Among the Kenyan delegates attending the meeting was Kenya's Ambassador to West Germany, Mr. H.N. Mulli.

    The African delegation was led by the State-Secretary in Kenya's Ministry of Fiance and Planning, Mr. N.G. Nganga.

    Mr. Nganga took part in two days of consultations with his West German counterpart, Professor Karl-Heinz Sohn, seen here welcoming members of the Kenyan delegation.

    The main topic under discussion was the question of economic aid to Kenya. While this meeting was taking place, the West German Ministry announced a capital aid grant of twenty-seven million marks for the construction of various projects in Kenya.

    The projects affected by the agreement include the construction of roads, reservoirs, and irrigation schemes. The West German government will also provide equipment and technical experts needed during construction work.
