    Original Background Text: London funeral of officers murdered by Sinn Feiners on Bloody Sunday 1920

    Updated Background: The moniker “Bloody Sunday” was coined due the murder of 14 civilians and the shooting and injuring of over 80, at a Gaelic Football game in Croke Park Dublin by the British Army and the paramilitary Auxiliary Division of the Royal Irish Constabulary. The assassination of these officers were carried out by the Irish Republican Army under the orders of General Michael Collins.
