Background: Spanish angel, cast in house and weighing 130 kilograms, left its lofty church-top perch at Vendrell and took to the air.
No miracle, it was heaved aloft by American helicopter piloted by Lieut. Chester Y. Williams.
The 60-meter tall angel, which acts as a weathercock and lighting rod, was in urgent need of repair - it was made nearly 200 years ago.
It was landed at a local sports ground, from where it was sent to be repaired.
