    Background: Anti-American exhibition showing wreckage of shot down U.S. jets and captured U.S. military equipments together with pilots of those who support North Vietnam was held at Hanoi since April 12 in order to encourage North Vietnamese people to fight against U.S.A.. Elvert Alvarez, U.S. pilot who was shot down by North Vietnamese on August 5th, 1964 was looked after by the authorities by instruction of President Ho Chi Minh as he is treated not as a prisoner of war. Because he confessed that he was captured by North Vietnamese as he bombed North Vietnam illegally. He was shown up on this exhibition with new shirt and clothe supplied by North Vietnamese government not as a prisoner of war. He is authorised to read the books, the papers, eat and exercise though he is interned in a specific camp. However, they say he is treated entirely free and good in a camp. His weight was increased 6 kilograms since he was captured last August. Lt. Alvarez looks around interior of the exhibition where a lot of wreckage of U.S. planes, photo of activities of Vietcong in South Vietnam and supporting organizations and countries such as Red China, Soviet Russia, North Korea and other friendly countries in East Europe were displayed for public. The North Vietnam government tries to raise fighting spirit of the people showing this exhibition for the public. They say they have already installed anti-air missiles on various important points in North Vietnam and shall fight against U.S. imperialists.
