SYNOPSIS: There were plenty of helping hands at the Royal Kraal near Nongoma on Friday as Prince Zwelithini Goodwill Kacyprian Bhekuzulu arrived for his installation ceremony as Paramount Chief of the Zulu Nation.

Thousands of Zulus from all parts of South Africa had converged on Nongoma by car, bus, bicycle, foot, and chartered aircraft for two days of dancing and feasting. The installation of the Prince as Paramount chief was to precede, by one day, his Coronation as king of South Africa's four million Zulus... in the proud line of the warrior Kings Shake, Dingaan, and Cetowaya.

The installation ceremony....the Government's formal recognition of the Prince's authority as Chief of Chiefs..was conducted by Mr. Michael Botha, Minister of Bantu Administration.

It was a proud day on Friday for the Zulu warrior. Where King is descended from a line of very early Chiefs. Commenting on the installation and coronation, Mr. Botha had earlier told the large crowd at the Royal Kraal that the Zulu Notion was on the threshold of Major developments in the constitutional field. He said he foresaw the evolution of the Zulu people into a fully-fledged, modern self-governing and independent nation...by peaceful means.
