In Kelowna, British Columbia, the Kelowna Packers meet the Vancouver Pilseners in an exhibition game before leaving for Sweden and Europe. The Canadian Amateur Hockey Association raised thirty-thousand dollars to pay expenses by the trip which takes the Packers into games against top European teams. Normally the Packers play in the Okanagan Senior Hockey League. But in this and other demonstration games they play against top teams from the Western hockey League. In the game filmed Kelowna beat Pilseners 7 to 3 and in other demonstration matches recorded similar convincing wins. They beat the Chilliwack Intermediate Flamingos 11 to nothing ..... a display they hope to repeat in Russia. In Sweden and Russia they will play nine games. The Club's manager, Bob Giordano says he thinks his team has the edge because of their superb condition and great experience. Seventeen players will make up the squad to tour Europe. They'll play their first game November 9, and five of the games will be played in Russia - the first of those on November 15. They return to Canada on November 25.
