Background: SYNOPSIS: COMM:"Off Queensland's Gold Coast a sea hunt is underway, the quarry is one of the earth's most intelligent creatures - the dolphin....
....a school of about 60 dolphins.. the hunters close in....
"The dolphins are in a playful mood and two of them break away from them school and ride the bow waves.......with perfect timing the catch is made....
....the struggle to bring her aboard begins....
    ....this dolphin..a young female...

she'll play part in a scientific attempt to breed dolphins in Australia...

"...this dolphins weighs about 300 pounds....not given up her struggle to remains free.....the hunters must be gentle..
Dolphins are highly sensitive and careless handling can be fatal...several weeks to collect precisely the right dolphin for breeding purposes....in tank in Marineland..
"Lifting the dolphin aboard in a stretcher is the technique least like to injure her..this method was developed in the United States it's ideal because only the required dolphin is captured.."
"Being a mammal and not a fish..the dolphin....
    breathes through a blow hole...

..injected with a tranquilliser to quieten her...because of their intelligence and ability to feel emotions.....it is possible that dolphins, removed from their natural environment, could suffer in human terms - a nervous breakdown."
Indistinct voice over radio as skipper speaks to shore
COMM:"The waters off the Gold Coast are a natural breeding ground..
not easy to bred them in captivity..
....men who have bread them in the United States have now come to Australia to establish the Suffer's Paradise breeding colony ....the breeders are encouraged to lead more natural lives than trained dolphins......
but first a blood test is taken....if she's found to be suffering from a disease she'll be treated immediately...

Dolphins have a very sophisticates social structure....the dolphin will become part of a family unit...if she doesn't become a mother herself...will probably protect the mother..... .....Marineland's curator David Brown spoke to reporter.....:
    "..... a very successful catch....
exactly the animal we needed....I'm sure she'll settle very well..."
"Unfortunately in colonies of highly trained dolphins.........do tend repress reproductive drive...."
