    THE DEPARTING UNITED STATES AMBASSADOR TO SOUTH VIETNAM, GENERAL MAXWELL TAYLOR, SAID IN SAIGON YESTERDAY (FRIDAY) THAT AMERICA WAS READY TO CARRY THROUGH TO THE END ITS POLICY IN THIS PART OF THE WORLD.THIS COULD NOT BE DOUBTED AFTER THE SPEECH IN WHICH PRESIDENT JOHNSON PLEDGED 50,000 MORE FIGHTING MEN FOR WAR-TORN VIETNAM.

    SPEAKING TO NEWSMEN, HE SAID "ONCE AGAIN YOU SEE THE DEPTH AND BREATH OF THE UNITED STATES COMMITMENT.THE UNITED STATES WILL DO ALL IT CAN TOWARDS THE ESTABLISHMENT OF PEACE AND JUSTICE IN SOUTH VIETNAM."
    GENERAL TAYLOR WHO HAS BEEN IN SAIGON FOR A YEAR IS BEING REPLACED BY HIS PREDECESSOR, MR.HENRY CABOT LODGE.HE WAS SEEN OFF BY A SMALL CROWD AT THE AIRPORT WHICH INCLUDED A ROMAN CATHOLIC BISHOP AND GENERAL WESTMORELAND, COMMANDER OF AMERICAN FORCES IN VIETNAM.

    GENERAL TAYLOR LEFT ABOARD A SPECIAL AIRCRAFT OF THE PRESIDENTIAL FLIGHT.
