BASHEEN: "Essentially , what we come today, after the ministers' meeting, is to come to steps to mellow the ??? and to gear Arab action again through the Arab League into more common action."
REPORTER: "Do you expect the meeting to wrap up today or tomorrow?"
BASHEEN: "The ministers may wrap up tonight, or tomorrow morning at the most. But delegates will continue on."
REPORTER: "Will they be discussing the political aspects of anything?"
BASHEEN: "Oh yes, ...no, no all other items will be discussed by the delegates."
BASHEEN: "Everything, every political matter."
REPORTER: "In the view of the UN troops...will the ministers decide tomorrow or will it be?"

Background: Representatives of the Arab League, meeting in Cairo, have asked President Jaafar Nimoiri of the Sudan to oversee moves aimed at healing the right in the Arab world caused by Egyptian President Sadat's peace overtures to Israel. On Thursday (28 March), the second day of their ??? the delegates proposed a goodwill committee under President ???.
SYNOPSIS: The Arab League meeting is at foreign minister level. The decision to start a ??? is seen as an attempt to settle differences in the Arab ??? to repair the ground for a pan-Arab summit conference. The proposed goodwill committee will include the Arab League secretary-general, Mahmoud Riad, and any other Arab state willing to take part. Already, President Sadat has agreed to attend an Arab summit conference, which would take place as soon as possible.
It was during talks with Prime Saud Al-Faisal of Saudi Arabia that Mr. Sadat gave his undertaking to attend the proposed summit. The attention of the Arab League meeting has also been on Israel's presence in southern Lebanon. A formal statement accused Israel of an aggressive and expansionist policy which denied Palestinians their right, and stood in the way of ta just peace in the region .The statement emphasised the importance of Arab solidarity ??? should be held promptly to mobilise forces and resources to confront Israel. During a break on the meeting's second day, newsmen spoke to the Egyptian representative, Mr. Tasheen Basheer.
