    A GROUP OF 23 OVERSEAS POLICE OFFICERS, FROM 10 COUNTRIES, NEARLY ALL OF THEM AFRICAN, TOOK PART IN A PASSING-OUT PARADE TODAY (TUESDAY) AT THE METROPOLITAN POLICE TRAINING COLLEGE AT HENDON, NEAR LONDON, WHERE THEY HAVE BEEN TAKING EXTRA TRAINING. THE PARADE MARKED THE END OF THE 39TH OVERSEAS NON-GAZETTED OFFICERS' COURSE AT THE COLLEGE.

    A TOTAL OF 1,107 OVERSEAS OFFICERS HAVE NOW ATTENDED COURSES AT THE COLLEGE. THE FIRST STARTED IN MARCH 1950. AT TODAY'S PASSING-OUT PARADE, MR. L.A. HICKS, DEPUTY OVERSEAS POLICE ADVISER, ADDRESSED THE OFFICERS AND PRESENTED THE BATON OF HONOUR TO INSPECTOR M. TUISAWAU, OF FIJI -- ONE OF THE FEW NON-AFRICANS -- FOR GAINING THE HIGHEST MARKS IN EXAMINATIONS DURING THE COURSE.

    INSPECTOR H.A. COLE OF THE BAHAMAS REPLIED TO MR. HICK'S SPEECH, ON BEHALF OF THE OTHER STUDENTS.
