    DURING THE EVENT HAILWOOD RAISED THE LAP RECORD FOUR TIMES TO 101.28 M.P.H.HE RODE AN ITALIAN M.V.EARLIER, HOWEVER HE WAS BEATEN IN THE 350 c.c.EVENT BY THE SOUTHERN RHODESIAN, JIM REDMAN, WHO SET UP AN EARLY LEAD ON HIS HONDA.ON THE SEVENTH LAP HE RAISED THE LAP RECORD TO NEARLY 96-MILES-PER-HOUR.HE WON CONVINCINGLY.

    REDMAN NOW HAS A FIRM GRIP ON THE 350 c.c.WORLD TITLE AND IS MAKING A STRONG CHALLENGE FOR THE 250 c.c.HONOURS.TODAY HE WON THIS EVENT FROM THE ITALIAN, TARQUINIO PROVINI, WHO RODE A MORINI.
