Sir Alec Douglas-Home, the British Secretary, arrived in Delhi on saturday (5 February) for three days of talks with Indian leaders. He was met by the Indian External Affairs Minister, Mr Swaran Singh. Britain's relations with India are reportedly considered to be at their best for several years. The main reason for the increased cordiality in Indo-British relations is said to be what India sees as Britain's positive stand on the Bangladesh issue and the war with Pakistan.
Sir Alec will go to Bangkok next week to be in attendance during Queen Elizabeth's state visit to Thailand. He's later to go to Hong Kong, Seoul and tokyo for ministerial discussions and will return home by way of Islamabad for talks with President Bhutto of Pakistan.
