Background: At a conference in the Jordanian capital of Amman on Friday (19 March) it was decided to support Arabs living in occupied territories in their opposition to recent Israeli actions against them.
Many deportees from occupied areas were among the delegates at the conference. The Mayor of Jerusalem, Mr. Rawhi Al-Khabib also attended.
All the speakers at the conference hailed the people of the Territories for their stand against Israeli actions such as the "pollution" of the Dome of the Rock, the Ibrahimi and other mosques and for Israeli aggression against Arabs.
The conference also called for the rejection of the Sinai agreement between Egypt and Israel.
The Arab League Council decided to call the 30th of March a "Day of Land" and asked Arab organisations through the Arab world to observe it as such to express their feelings and support for the inhabitants of the occupied territories.
Islamic country members of the United Nations Security Council have called for an emergency meeting of the Council to discuss the situation in the occupied lands.

The Sheikh and other speakers supported the actions of Arab people in the territories in their opposition to Israeli actions such as the alleged pollution of the Rock of the Mount, the Ibrahimi and other mosques, and Israeli attacks and arrests on Arabs.
A large audience, which included many people who had been deported from the occupied areas, attended the meeting.
Father Elia Khoury, a priest also deported from the West Bank occupied area, was among the speakers supporting the people still living there.
