    A delegation of important Viet Cong leaders arrived in Uganda on Saturday (29 September) for a four-day visit. The delegation includes the President of the South Vietnamese National Liberation Front, Nguyen Huu Tho, and the organisation's Foreign Minister, Madams Nguyen Thi Binh.

    According to an official Ugandan Government statement issued the day the delegates arrived, the visit is intended to strengthen friendship with Ugandans, who show sympathy and support for "the Vietnamese in their struggle against American aggression and imperialism."
    On arrival at Entebbe Airport, the delegation was welcomed by President Amin, and his two-year-old son, Moses, who presented Madame Binh with a bouquet of flowers.

    The twenty-three member delegation will have talks with Ugandan leaders during their visit, and will also attend the final of the East African Soccer Challenge Cup at Mutukula. At the end of the visit, on October 2, a joint communique will be signed.

    SYNOPSIS: Following visits to Egypt and Tanzania, a twenty-three member Vietcong delegation arrived in Uganda on Saturday. Their host, General Amin, was at Entebbe airport, to welcome the Vietnamese to his country.

    Nguyen Huu Tho, President of the South Vietnamese National Liberation Front, and Madame Nguyen Thi Binh, the organisation's Foreign Minister, were first to disembark.

    Master Moses Amin was at the Airport with his father, as part of the reception committee. He presented Madame Binh with a bouquet.

    According a an official Ugandan Government statement, the visit is intended to strengthen friendship with Ugandans, who showed sympathy and support for "the Vietnamese in their struggle against American aggression and imperialism." Besides talks with Ugandan officials, the delegation will attend the final of the East African Soccer Challenge Cup. At the airport, the Vietnamese were treated to a display of traditional Ugandan dances.

    The visit to Uganda will last for four days, and when it ends, a joint communique will be issued. Before their arrival at Entebbe, the Viet cong had been in Tanzania. While in Tanzania, they called for more support for what they termed "freedom fighters" in Southern Africa. They also agreed with the Tanzania Government policy that international pressure should be brought to enforce sanctions on Rhodesia, and to force white Governments to recognise the rights of African majorities.

    The Viet Cong leaders have come to Uganda at the specific request of General Amin.
