Background: Despite all the bad economic news, there still are people willing to invest money, hope, and a lot of work in a good idea. Kenley Jones has a story about a man who did that...and his idea is about to pay off.

The ??? a time -- not many ??? ago -- ??? flying ??? more than just a way to got from one. ??? to another -- fast Flying was fun.

That was back in the days of the open-cockpit bi-planes, when pilots-- unencumbered by fancy electronic gear -- flow by the coat of their pants.

Now a small company in Ton??? is trying to ??? the fun back into flying with a new model bi-plene - the Falcon.

After more than 12 years of design and development, the plane has finally been certified for production by the Federal Aviation Administration.

The Falcon has a 150-horsepower engine, and crui??? at just over 100-miles per hour. It is highly ???, and with slight ??? the standard model -- designed for weekend fliers -- can be modified for ??? aerobatics or crop ??? . The standard model will sell for about 20-thousand-dollar.

At this stage of development the Falcon comes in only two color combinations - red and white, and white and red. Tennessee red is the official color, to be exact.

And they's appropriate, because the story of the Falcon is not only the story of an airplane, but the story of a man as well -- a man from Tennessee called Red.

C.E. "Red" Pitner become interested in aviation when he was a boy, but he didn't ??? taking flying lessons until he was almost forty.

His flight instructor sold him on the idea of building a new bi-plane, and together the two men formed a company.

The company almost went under, but was kept going by ??? determination not to let his stockholders down. He has about 75- thousand dollars of his own money ??? in the Falcon.

The company has been ??? money during the time ??? taken to got FAA certification.

Put now that certification is complete, the company ??? to begin assembling the planes that ??? been ??? in parts around the floor.

And "Red" Pitner ??? that ??? all these years he will begin making some money."
Pitner freely ??? that it wasn't just a love of flying that made him start building airplanes, but a desire to make ??? well.

At the ??? time he says he believes really love ??? who flying will love the kind of airplane help built -- an soon an the Falcon gets off the ground ??? Jones. ??? Jones torn, ???
