Background: SYNOPSIS: New links between South Yemen and Eastern Europe were strengthened at the weekend when Yemini Prime Minister Ali Nasser Mohamad arrived in Warsaw. He was there at the invitation of his Polish counterpart, Premier Piotr Jaroszewicz, who led the welcome at Warsaw airport on Saturday. Polish Defence Minister Wojciech Jaruzelski was also there, together with other ministers. Units of the Polish Army provided the guard of honour for this first visit to their country by a South Yemeni premier.
The visit by Prime Minister: Ali Nasser Mohamed was scheduled to last for four days. But at the time of his arrival, there was no precise report on the topics he would be discussing with Polish ministers. However, the two countries already have diplomatic relations at ambassadorial level. And earlier this year they improved relations further by signing an agreement under the terms of which they will cooperate in scientific and cultural affairs.
