    DAVE BICKERS OF BRITAIN, WHO HAD SPENT THE PAST FOUR DAYS IN BED WITH INFLUENZA, TODAY (SUNDAY) WON THE BRANDS HATCH INTERNATIONAL MOTOR-CYCLE SCRAMBLE. HE WON IT FROM SOME OF THE CHAMPION RIDERS OF SWITZERLAND, DENMARK, SWEDEN, BELGIUM, NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALIA.

    BICKERS WON FOUR CONSECUTIVE EVENTS TO EMERGE THE CLEAR WINNER. MOGEUS RASMUSSEN OF DENMARK WAS THE ONLY FOREIGN RIDER WHO CAME NEAR TO CHALLENGING HIS LEADERSHIP. BICKERS WON THE EVENTS FOR MOTORBIKES UP TO 500 C.C., FROM 350 TO 750 C.C. AND BOTH HEATS OF THE UP TO 750 C.C. EVENT. RASMUSSEN TOOK THIRD PLACE IN THE 350 C.C. EVENT, AND SECOND PLACES IN THE TWO HEARTS OF THE UP TO 750 C.C. EVENT.

    FOR TWO OF SWEDEN'S RIDERS, OLLE PETTERSSON AND ROLF TIBBLIN, IT WAS A BAD DAY. PETTERSSON, AN INTERNATIONAL STAR, COULD DO NO BETTER THAN FIFTH AND SIXTH PLACES IN THE TWO HEATS OF THE MAJOR RACE. HE CAME SECOND IN THE 350 C.C. TO 750 C.C. EVENT BUT WAS UNPLACED IN THE OTHERS. TIBBLIN SCORED ONE SECOND, ONE THIRD AND ONE FOURTH PLACE IN HIS RACES BUT WAS INJURED DURING THE LAST HEAT OF THE MAJOR RACE.
