"As far as our united front is concerned we must continue the struggle in order to get back our National independence. You know, we are so happy to be able from now on... from on to demonstrate that our Popular Force is strong, and that to be do not depend on the North Vietnamese. Because when our soldiers fought the soldiers of Lon Nol, the Westerners used to say that they are... they were just North Vietnamese. From now on we shall be able to present to the world the proof that the soldiers of the Popular Army of National Liberation, fighting in Cambodia, against Lon Nol and U.S. Imperialism, are Cambodians."

Background: In a interview given on the first day of the Vietnam ceasefire, exiled Prince Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia said he totally rejected any ceasefire in Cambodia. The Prince, speaking at his official residence in Peking, said he will go on fighting "Lon Nol and U.S. imperialism" with his own forces, which he claims are virtually the same strength as Lon Nol's. He added, that he has two year's supply of arms so that he can continue Fighting even if the Ho Chi Minh trail is closed.
