The boxing teams of the USA and the USSR met for the tenth time in the Palace of Sports of the Central Lenin Stadium in Moscow. This time the Americans sent a young team for the contest. William Berry, winner of the "Gold Gloves" tournament is 22. He has had 42 matches and has won 36 of them. This time he was defeated by our experienced boxer Boris Kuznetsov form Asbrakhan, Champion of the Munich Olympic Games. In Heavy weight Pyotr Zayev, last year's Prize winner from Lipetsk, fought with Emergy Chapman, also winner of the "Gold Gloves". The superiority of Chapman was evident and he was adjudged the victory. The tenth traditional meeting of American and Soviet boxers ended with the result 7:4 in favour of the Soviet team.
