    On Thursday evening, 16 January 1964 there arrived in Warsaw to give several performances Marlena Dietrich. Her real name is Maria-Magdalene von Losch. Born in Berlin, she performed in theatre being bound with a famous school of Max Reinhardt. Her film debut took place in 1930 in "The Blue Butterfly" and brought her great fame. She was immediately engaged to Hollywood, playing "vamp" characters as well as characteristic roles. - We all remember her from the picture "The Witness of Accusation".

    - During the war she rejected Goobels' proposal of her return to the fascist Germany. Instead, she gave performance in camps of Allied forces. The fascists have hated Marlena. During her tournee round the German Federal Republik in 1960 she was received by the audiences with protesting whistles.

    - Marlena Dietrich has certainly become an important chapter in the history of film. Her most famous pictures are "The Blue Butterfly", "Allaoh's Garden", "The Blue Angel", "The Flame of New Orlean"...

    - Marlena Dietrich will perform in Warsaw for three days.
