    An exhibition of foreign-made scientific instruments has opened in Moscow's Sokolniki Park. More than one hundred and 20 companies and organisations are taking part, and the major exhibitors have come from most of the leading countries of Europe.

    Main theme of the exhibition is the demonstration of machines, instruments and equipment for testing the strength of materials and structures.

    SYNOPSIS: Thousands of Muscovites have been touring a special scientific exhibition in the city's Sokolniki Park.

    Leading manufactures of machines and instruments for testing the strength of materials and structures are taking part in the exhibition, titled "Testmashpribor-71". The major countries involved are Austria, Belgium, Great Britain, Denmark, Japan, Sweden and Switzerland.

    Equipment on show includes digital voltage metres, registering devices and testing machines
    Specialists are being attracted to various models of microscopes, an underwater periscope for a nuclear reactor, and television devices demonstrated by Japanese companies.

    On the first few days of the exhibition it was visited by experts from enterprises and research establishments in Moscow and other cities.
