    Mar del Plata's ten-day International Film Festival reached its climax March 17 with the awarding of prizes of outstanding contributions to the art of the screen.

    At the gals dinner which ended the festival, Festival President Enzo Ardigo spoke to the assembled delegation from all parts of the world.

    Earlier, Britain's film, delegation - including director Anthony Asquith, actors Tony Wright, Paul Massie and Tony Britton - held a press conference on "The Battle of the Sexes". Mr. Asquith later joined film experts from Argentina, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and USA in assessing the many entries.

    The Grand Jury awarded prizes to: Germany for the best film, "The Bridge"; Italian Director Pietro Germi, for "Un Maledetto Imbroglio"; Italian actress Eleonora Rossi Drago, for her part in "Verano Violento", American actor Paul Muni, for his role in "The Last Angry Man". Others honoured at the festival were Russian child actress Ania Kapenkova and France's colour photographer Jean Bourgoing. The best short film, and animated colour cartoon called "The Tournament", was shown by Poland.
