    The Bahraini Foreign Minister, Sheik Mohammed Mubarak Al Khalifah, has been in the Syrian capital of Damascus for talks with the Prime Minister, Mr. Mahmoud Ayoubi.

    The Sheik spent three days in Damascus, leaving for Bahrain on Saturday (3 April).

    Shiek Mubarak and Mr. Ayoubi concentrated on the bilateral relations between Syria and Bahrain during the talks, but they are also believed to have discussed the current Middle East situation including the crisis in Lebanon.

    The Bahraini Foreign Minister also carried a message from the Emir of Bahrain, Sheik Isa Bin Sulman Al-Khalifah for the Syrian President, Mr. Hafez Al-Assad. The message contained his views on the general situation in the area and the latest developments in the Middle East.

    SYNOPSIS: The Prime Minister's office in the Syrian capital of Damascus, where the Prime Minister, Mr. Mahmoud Ayoubi, met the Foreign Minister of Bahrain, Sheik Mohammad Mubarak Al-Khalifah, on Saturday for talks.

    The talks between the two men concentrated mainly on bilateral relations between Syria and Bahrain, but were also believed to have covered the situation in the Middle East, including the Lebanon crisis. Sheik Mubarak spent a total of three days in the Syrian capital before returning to Bahrain on Saturday.

    He brought a message form the Emir of Bahrain, Sheik Isa Bin Sulman Al-Khalifah, for the Syrian President, Hafez Al-Assad, containing the Emir's views on Middle East developments.
