Diving...and in Britain competitors met on Wednesday and Thursday (18 - 19 July) at Crystal Palace, in London. The United States, Canada, Australia, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Spain and GREAT britain sent teams to compete for team trophies and individual winners medals. On Wednesday (18 July) British diver Christopher Snode, won the men's springboard event and Melissa Briley of the United States was placed first in the women's highboard event.
SYNOPSIS: Robert Cragg of the United States performs his final two dives in the springboard competition. His final total was 462-point-72 which gave him third place.
Austria's Niki Stajkovic performed next. His final score was 508-point-02 which gave him second place.
But it was man from the host country--Britain's Christopher Snode--whose final dives won him the top score. He finished in first place with a score of 539-point-43.
Swedish diver, Eva Aronsson, performs her third and fourth dives in the women's highboard competition. Her final score was 274-point-86 giving her the third place medal.
Brigit Duda of Austria's final dives won her second place.
And it was these two final dives by Melissa Briley of the United States that added to a final score of 353.07 points and won her the first place medal in the women's highboard.
