Background: Mrs. Naa Morkor Busia, the wife of the Prime Minister of Ghana, gave a reception on Wednesday (12th) in Accra for 120 visiting teachers.
The guests were delegates to a seminar of Christian teachers which was taking place in Ghana. They had come from the English-speaking countries of West Africa, and from Asia and the United States.
Among the guests whom Mrs. Busia had invited to her party to meet the teachers were the wives of Ghanaian Cabinet and junior Ministers. The General Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers, Mr. C.K. Penrose, was there too.
The seminar had been discussing the teaching of Christian faith and values, the African heritage, and the part that women can play in education and national development.
