    On the fourth stage of his five-nation tour of Africa, France's President Pompidou took a train ride on Wednesday (10 Feb. 1971) along Cameroun's newest section of railway. The track, which runs up-country from the capital, Yaounde, is a vital transport link for the country and is planned eventually to reach the neighbouring Republic of Chad. President Pompidou pledged to encourage greater investment in Cameroun. The railway is being built with French, European and United States aid. Later the French leader left for the last stop on his African tour - Gabon.
