The two New Zealand girls who were aboard the Canadian protest yacht Green Peace Three when it was boarded by French commandoes off Mururoa Atoll have returned to Auckland New Zealand.

The girls say Green Peace's skipper David McTaggart was attacked by five French sailors and beaten with rubber caches. McTaggart's eye was badly injured in the scuffle. The girls claim their hair was pulled and their arms badly bruised. The yacht's navigator was also beaten after attempting to send a last SOS message on Green Peace's radio.

Anne Marie Horne of Hamilton and ???ary Lornie of Auckland told how the vessel was boarded while in international waters.

She says than ??? with protest, she and ???ary had their hair pulled and ??? bruised, and she ways the navigator, Nigel Ingram, was also beaten after attempting to send a last SOS message on Green Peace's position.
He was kicked in the aide, groin and stomach and was unconscious.
She says the commandos then destroyed the microphone cables from the radio.
Anne Marie says the whole incident happened in about 20 seconds and was brutal, barraging and illegal.
The girls say McTagpart can only see light and dark from one eye and they're asking the ???vernment to seek legal redress.
