    Hundreds of people waving red flags have marched post the La Scala Opera house in support of workers and peace in Vietnam. The demonstration was also anti-fascist, and it was addressed by Giorgio Amendola, secretary of the Communist Party. The demonstrators chanted slogans in the usual way, but the Italian flag was also evident, said to be an unusual feature at this kind of demonstration.

    Hundreds of people carrying red flags have demonstrated in Milan against the Vietnam war. The demonstrators marched past the La Scala opera house to the Piazza Castelli.

    Police kept an eye on the marchers but the demonstration was orderly and they weren't called on for action.

    The demonstration was both anti-fascist and in support of the workers...it was addressed by Giorgio Amendola, the secretary of the Italian Communist Party.
