  • Description

The ruler of one of the smallest independent sovereign states of Europe, the Prince of Liechenstein, arrived in Brussels on June 2nd, for a tour of the Brussels Exhibition.

Accompanied by his wife, the Prince was received by King Baudouin, King of the Belgians. For the greater part of their visit to the great exhibition they toured the Swiss pavilion. The textile section held their Highnesses attention for some time. The Princess was most intrigued by the painter Erni's great fresco, that symbolises the watch and clockmaking industry of Switzerland.

The Prince showed his partiality and interest for machinery in the heavy industry section of the Swiss pavilion, spending a great deal of time expanding turbines and metal-working machinery.
