Background: During a two-week visit to Japan at the invitation of Tokyo's city authorities, delegates of the Moscow City Council were shown around factories and other technical facilities in the Japanese capital, Nov 18.

At a Renault assembly plant the nine-man delegation, headed by vice-chairman of Moscow's City Council, Tihomilov, saw fitters at work and engines being tested.

Later they visited the Ogochi dam and reservoir on the outskirts of Tokyo.

Before returning to Russia, the Moscow delegates will tour several Japanese cities, including Nikko, Kyoto and Osaka.
