    Still weak after her illness in London, Miss Elizabeth Taylor was assisted on to the stage at the Civic Auditorium, Santa Monica, California, April 18 to receive the famous "Oscar" film award as the best actress of 1960 for her part in "Butterfield 8".

    The Oscar for the best actor of the year was awarded to Burt Lancaster for his performance in "Elmer Gantry". The film "The Apartment" won the prize for the best motion picture of the year. It was awarded five Oscars altogether, including two for Mr. Billy Wilder - one for his direction and one for his work as co-author of the film.

    Mr. Peter Ustinov won the best supporting actor award for his role as gladiator salesman in "Spartacus". Miss Shirley Jones was nominated best supporting actress for her part in "Elmer Gantry". Chosen as the best foreign-language film of the year was Mr. Ingmar Bergman's "The Virgin Spring". The best documentary feature prize was won by Mr. Walt Disney's "The Horse with the Flying Tail".
