SYNOPSIS: Taiwan has been visited by the Foreign Minister of Dahomey, Mr. Daouda Badarou, and his wife. The minister spent eight days on the island.

Mr. Badarou and his wife made the visit at the invitation of the Chiang Kai Shek regime. During his stay he called on officials of the regime and of the city of Taipei.

One of Mr. Badarou's first official calls on the island was to the Shrine of Martyrs at Taipei. Here he laid a wreath in honour of the war-dead.

Another visit was to an exhibition in Taipei of typical products - and costumes - of the island. Mr. Badarou also visited agricultural and economic projects on the islands and praised Taiwan's industrial and agricultural achievements. He said he would report fully to his government on what he had seen on the island.

Later, Mr. Badarou and his wife paid a call to a hospital for retired servicemen and rehabilitation centre. They were able to meet and talk to many of the patients.
